Unifying his mind, body and soul with tribal drumbreaks, powerful horn sections and soulful vocals made Lucas Benjamin experience the true essence of jazz, soul and funk.
Lucas Benjamin started as a dancer in the Hip-Hop culture at a young age and soon discovered his passion for music, which led him to spend many hours in record stores.
He is a real record connoisseur who takes you into the warm world of Soul, Funk and Jazz to tropical African and Brazilian rhythms. He does not limit himself to one era: from his needle flow 70’s songs to unreleased sounds of the future. In short: He plays timeless and genre-breaking sets.
His unique taste has already taken him to London, Berlin, Paris, New York, Tokyo, Sydney, and São Paulo.
He first conquered the dance world and performed at major battles such as Juste Debout, The Notorious IBE, Summerdance Forever and then moved on to the club/festival scene, but also does things in theater and radio.
As one of the residents of the famous Wicked Jazz Sounds movement, you can regularly hear him at the Sugarfactory on Sundays in Amsterdam where you can expect a range of musical treats in the broadest sense of the word.
He is also part of the collective “MORE BOUNCE”.
They are busy organizing parties where Funk-inspired music is central.
