Sjoerd Arends

Sjoerd Arends (Groningen, 1987) is a singer who made his debut at the Stadsschouwburg Groningen at the age of 7. After participating in the VARA Children’s Song Contest in 1998, he got his first leading role in ‘Tell me what’ at the Dastater foundation. He played in various musicals such as ‘Sleeping Beauty’s Thousand-Year-Old Dream’ and recorded a track in 1999 for the CD ‘Hoog uit het Noorden’. Arends studied singing at the ArtEZ Conservatory in Enschede from 2006 to 2010, where he was coached by various professionals and graduated successfully.

Sjoerd Arends regularly performs with bands such as ‘The Gentlemen’, ‘SESSION’, ‘We Want More’, ‘The Rich and Famous’ and ‘The Brat Pack’. In addition, Sjoerd is available solo as a singer for atmospheric background music during your wedding ceremony, reception or company drinks. For a spectacular show, he can perform as a tape act, ideal for dinner shows and other festive events. Moreover, together with Lynn Stephans he forms a dynamic duo, known as Lynn & Shorty, where they play refined (background) music.
