Saxophonist Tim Baker

Music is the common thread in Tim Baker’s 29-year existence. As a small, curious boy he listened for hours to all bands that could be found from Bassie & Adriaan to Earth Wind & Fire. Of course he didn’t realize then that his passion would later become his profession, partly thanks to the Waldorf School. Tim Baker was accepted in 2007 at the Conservatory in Haarlem, formerly Alkmaar. He studied saxophone, pop/session. Under the title of ‘Leading Performer’ he completed this study in 2011 with three 8’s.

During these four years he discovered the true musician hidden within him. As a great music lover, this Alkmaar native has immersed himself in different styles. Soul, pop, dance and funk are the genres he feels most at home with.

During the training his love for Jazz ignited and it is impossible to extinguish. He likes to be inspired by, among others: Maceo Parker, David Sanborn, Eric Marienthal, Kenny Garret, Cannonball Adderley, Eddie Harris and Michael Brecker. Tim has already built up quite a bit of stage experience and has played with various artists such as Trijntje Oosterhuis, Candy Dulfer, Alain Clark, Boris Titulaer, Justine Palmelay, Carlo de Wijs.
